Skadi Goddess Statue

Skadi Celtic Goddess

This statue embraces Skadi the huntress, portraying her as a woman of winter, clad in a sweeping fur cloak and high boots as she hunts over a mountain stream.  For the Celts her name was "Skatha" means shadow or shade and she gives her name also as Scotia.  For the Norse she was the dark twin of Freya.  There is always a dark and light twin throughout Northern European tales.  Opposite sides of the wheel.  Scandinavia was named for her.  Some say, other tribes called her Caillech (pronounced KAL-y-ach).

The perfect gift for your altar or to honour someone's background.
